Friends of West End Copse Action Day - Thank You
Friends of West End Copse
Action Morning - Saturday 26th January, 2019
Our first action morning was an eventful one!
Eleven of us turned up on a cold, but dry morning and dressed in our new high vis vests, we were ready.
We’d planned to do our usual litter pick, along with some cutting back of Holly, Cherry Laurel and clearing the paths.
However, we discovered that a large silver birch tree had fallen across the boardwalk blocking one of the paths.
So, armed with bow saws, members of the group set about removing the obstruction.
With the smell of bacon being cooked on site, we were spurred on, the tree was cut back and removed from the boardwalk within an hour or so.
We also managed to collect a couple of bags of litter and give the directional sign near to the boardwalk a coat of wood preserver. So, all in all, a good morning’s work.
A special thanks to Mike for cooking the bacon on his camping stove.
If that isn’t a good incentive to come and join us, I don’t know what is!
