We would like to purchase some new camping equipment to continue the outdoor opportunities we offer our young people.
Social club to provide for activities, refreshments, games and paying for hall
We would like to add some tools and equipment to our resources this year: A dual battery-operated leaf-blower to clear the main paths in the Copse of leaves in the Autumn/Winter months Several pairs of secateurs for volunteers to use to cut back vegetation along the main paths.
With rising costs all round, the funding would help to support meetings and maintain membership with an interesting agenda
As part of our energy saving scheme, we wish to install smart heating controls.
We need a new tablet to enable us to download and run music for our shows that we perform.
We are looking to encourage more volunteers to help us carry out even more Speedwatch Sessions. Each volunteer will need to be provided with Hi Viz clothing, a jacket and a vest. We have equipment that was damaged last year which we need to have repaired, we currently do not have sufficient funds to cover the cost of repairs, although we are seeking funds from a number of sources.
We would like to bring our very successful gentle physical activity sessions for the over 60's to West End to help them increase mobility, reduce isolation and therefore improve their all-round health and mental wellbeing. The exercise side of the sessions will help improve the mobility and flexibility of the participants enabling them to live more independently for longer. By attending a regular group this will help counteract isolation and give them the opportunity to socialise and chat. The funding will help to cover the facility hire costs and coach’s cost.
The money would be used to put towards the cost and installation of a defibrillator for members of the public to use in emergency medical situations. We plan for it to be a similar set up as the units already at the Parish Centre and The Master Builder Pub. The remaining money will be fundraised with donations from the congregation of the Church.
Heathland clearance and restoration.
To continue our social events which need to be catered for. There are approximately 30 social events each year with an estimated attendance of about 400 over the year. We have decided to purchase a second hedge cutter, which will enable us to get even more work done, when vegetation is very dense. This grant would help to cover half the cost
To enable the society to continue to offer a full range of speakers at our monthly meetings for our members and visitors, provide a quarterly newsletter and maintain our website and the Museum.
Kit and equipment for our SEN and disability football sessions which we provide for free.
We need to replace our large outdoor shed which holds all of the equipment and resources the children use outside.
