Christmas Market and Light Switch On at West End Parish Council
Join West End Parish Council for our first ever Christmas Market.
We are thrilled to be building on our popular annual Light Switch On with a Christmas Market, plus a full day of activities and entertainment.

What time does the event start?
The event starts at 3 pm and ends at 7 pm There are various performances throughout the day; please see the full schedule for more details.
What time is the light switch on?
6.30 pm
How does the reindeer raffle work?
Tickets will be on sale from 3 pm to 6 pm, costing £1 per strip. Cash only, please. The raffle winners will be announced after the lights are switched on and the choir has performed their final song. There will be a selection of prizes, kindly donated by the stallholders, and two reindeer that the grounds team have made. We will draw until there is a winner, so please ensure you are there at the end if you want to be in with a chance. The reindeer come with free delivery within West End.
What food is available?
The Hatch Café will be open and offering its full menu, along with Christmas Sandwiches. They will also be selling Mulled Wine and Mince Pies in the main hall, priced at £1 each. The Youth Club are running their popular BBQ, serving burgers and hot dogs.
How can we see Santa?
Santa will be in the main hall. It is free to see Santa and no booking is required. There is a free gift for the first 250 children - the gifts will be split into age groups 1-5 and 6-10 (please note this is a guide, and older children are still welcome to come and see Santa). Babies under one are also welcome to come for a photo.
Is there any parking?
The car park will be closed for the duration of the event, so please walk where possible. Alternatively, there is some street parking (please respect residents, park safely and do not block driveways). There is also parking at ASDA but please be careful to observe the minimum parking duration.
What happens if it's raining?
The market and light switch on will still go ahead if it is raining. If there is severe rain or wind, the outside part of the event may have to be adapted and, in the worst-case scenario, cancelled. We will monitor the weather closely this week. Please keep an eye on our social media for any updates.
