Annual Parish Assembly

Annual Parish Assembly

The Annual Parish Assembly (APA) is a required meeting for local councils under the Local Government Act, 1972. It serves as a forum for local government electors to discuss matters specific to the parish and must be held annually between March 1 and June 1. This assembly is unique to Parish and Town Councils and is distinct from regular Parish Council meetings. It provides an opportunity for residents to engage with their local government and voice their concerns or suggestions.

The purpose of the meeting is for the Parish Council to explain what it has been doing over the last year and enables residents to have their say on anything they consider to be of importance to the people of the Parish.

The APA is a fantastic opportunity to meet your local Councillors, Council staff and members of relevant community groups.
